bubbles instead of confetti

Sandysounds, 11 May, 2009 at 14:06 Posted on Planning 0 1

I started a thread a while back asking for opinions on offering bubbles for brides coming out of the ceremony. I did my first one on Sunday so i thought i'd share a piccy. (sorry the brides missing from the photo but it didn't seem right ....but you can get the idea)

As a photographer, I have carried a bubble machine with me on weddings for the last 4-5 years, although will only use it where it has been previously discussed with the couple(and venue). I use liquid that is non slippery and non coloured or staining to ensure that there are no "incidents"....

It can look very good, although tradition has it that this is a fertility right representing wishing children on to the couple, and seeds like rice or petals(or confetti which is supposed to be fake petals) are more relevant to that.

That said, many traditions are evolving and as said, bubbles can look very good and are great in venues that will not allow the more traditional throwing material. They are not so good in windy circumstances, although in stiller conditions, they hang around in the air nicely and their movement is great for the video.

I'm afraid that I still prefer rice!
