Budget friendly wedding transport advice - Uber or other alternatives?

Hi everyone,

I’m getting married this August and need some advice on how to get myself and the bridal party from our hotel to the ceremony venue. It’s only a 15-minute drive in outer London and although arriving in a fancy expensive wedding car isn’t my priority, it still is my wedding day and arriving in a standard cab isn’t what I had in mind either.

We’re on a budget and ideally want to spend less than £100 per car for this one-way trip. I’ve looked into reserving an Uber Lux in advance as a possible option, as it would still be affordable but hopefully with a nicer car. Has anyone used Uber Lux for their wedding day? Was it reliable?

Did anyone just order regular Ubers, and how was their experience?

Are there any other cost-saving ideas for wedding transport? I don’t mind hiring a traditional wedding car, but I’m aware of the price tag that comes along with it. We unfortunately don’t have any friends with luxury cars to borrow either. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Hi Wendy,

    I actually can't help but would also like some advice on this exact scenario. Am getting married in London this Summer and the venue is just 10 mins from ceremony and am not fussed about a fancy car to travel there in. HOWEVER I am someone who gets very stressed about being on time and I do want to make sure whatever option chosen is reliable.

    A number of people I know (including our venue) recommended Uber but I have also seen blog posts saying that ubers would cancel if they turned up to see a bridal party.

    I look forward to seeing any more responses on this post.

    We also had to go through something similar our budget was small and the route was short, but we wanted to arrive at the ceremony in style, rather than in a regular taxi. We considered the option of a luxury taxi, but it was unreliable our friends' car simply didn't arrive on time. In the end, we took an inexpensive minibus for the guests and found a stylish option for ourselves and sports car hire London this company found a car that fit our budget, and our arrival became a moment that everyone will remember. The main thing is to book in advance, especially in London.
