Buffet reception

Sandie, 27 of January of 2024 at 22:35 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 3
Do I do a table plan for seating or just let people sit wherever they want to?

Do I do napkins with napkin holders or not?
Please help as only been to weddings with sit down meal, which is totally different to what we are having
Thanks everyone in advance

Buffet receptions generally do not have a table plan, but no reason why you can not have one. Napkins/ holders is entirely up to you. Come to think of it I am struggling to remember a wedding that had holders, they are usually just folded, mostly flat but here are some ideas.

You don't HAVE to have one, but personally, I LOATHE weddings that don't have seating plans. I've nearly always gone to weddings on my own, and it's super awkward when every table is filled with a bunch of people who came together and you feel like you are gate crashing wherever you sit!

We are having a buffet for our meal and we aren't doing a seating plan, but to avoid what RGS has said we have made sure that everyone knows at least one other person there by giving people a plus one if we know they won't know anyone else Smiley smile
