Buying book paper to make flowers?

2026Bridetobe, 10 November, 2024 at 10:22 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hi everyone,

Has anyone used paper flowers or made their own at all?
Fiancé and I really like the style of the origami flowers made out of books. I know you can buy them but we wanted to try and make some ourselves, the only problem is we don’t like the thought of having to destroy books to do it 😂
Does anyone know if you can buy the sort of paper used in books, like that textured old school book papery feel? If that even makes sense.
We are thinking maybe we can scan in some pages of the books and manga comics we own, then printing them out and using that to make them?
We are book and manga lovers so the thought of even buying second hand copies and destroying them hurts haha.
Thanks

You might find the kind of paper you want in an art supply place - if you're trying to print on it, you don't want anything too thick, so avoid the heavier watercolour papers. Something like a rough texture lightweight sketching paper might work.
