Cake size

RomanticBlueHair33815, 23 October, 2021 at 20:17 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hi

75 guests. We are looking at a cake that serves 45-50 finger portions. Do you think this is ok? I'm working on the thoughts that not everyone will want cake??
What have you done?

We are serving our cake for dessert and I want lots to take home afterwards! We therefore have a lot of cake! If you were planning on serving it a while after the wedding breakfast, and you don’t want much leftover, then I think 50 servings is probably a reasonable estimate. Best person to ask would be a wedding planner or caterer, I suppose.

I would get one for every guest - you can always send people home with extra bits or give them to people who couldn't attend, but I wouldn't want to risk someone wanting cake and not being given any. Assuming 1/3 of your guests won't eat it seems a high number to me too.
