Cake sponge flavours - inspiration required!

We are planning chocolate for the big layer, vanilla sponge with jam for the middle and carrot for the top, I hate fruit cake!!

Are you having a lemon flavoured sponge, and then lemon curd & lemon flavoured buttercream? I like this!

Chocolate also a good shout, maybe with a raspberry jam & buttercream?

Wer having chocolate fudge bottom tier, middle is vanilla sponge with clotted cream buttercream and top is carrot cake, Mr F insisted we have this flavour is its his fav!!

Ok this was the wrong thread to read when I'm already hungry and trying to avoid the left over birthday cakes in the staff room!!! lol

I would live these type of flavours but a lady I know has offered to do us a fruit one as a present and due to the budget couldnt really turn that down (Idon't like fruit either!!lol)

Mum and I have made the bottom fruit tier though

We are having one spice although I dont like it others do.

We are then having the smallest one as lemon, one of them as carrot cake and one chocolate & praline.

They offered us loads of different flavours but when we went for tastings some of them didnt quite have the taste we wanted there was:

Vanilla & champagne, Baileys, traditional vanilla sponge, white chocolate, mint chocolate, chocolate orange thats all i can remember hope it helps!

We had cupcakes in apple & cinnamon, gingerbread and chocolate orange, then a small fruit cake on top for cutting.

We are also having 4 tiers. Not sure which tier will be what yet but we are having red velvet, vanilla sponge with a chocolate orange filling, carrot and lemon. ?

I'm far from decided but I know that we'll be having malteser cake for one of the layers ?
