So i think most of our major wedding bits and pieces are complete with four weeks to go! Horray!

So now I feel i am looking for things to buy for the sake of it!

I just wondered who is having/had a cake topper on their cake? Could you do a cheeky flash?

Im in a do we/don't we kind of mood and having a look on various sites - NOTHS - ETSY, EBAY etc can i justify the outlay?!

Our cake is four tiers, gold to ivory ombre ruffle cake - i wouldn't want to take away any of the detail on the cake?

Any thoughts!?

xx

I was also in the do we/don't we camp. Really like them just couldn't picture them on my cake. But the more I look at generic cake toppers such as a big letter (which is what I was leaning towards) or flowers the more I prefer the personalised ones - ones that mean something to the B&G.

My OH calls me sweetcheeks - but you can't really put an arse as a cake topper so will be going for a Love on Top miniature B&G. How could I resist my own creepy little talking point! Now at least guests will have something to say when they come round - it's normally been all silent and awkward. Although clearly there would have been more to talk about if I had gone with the arse idea.....?

Our cake topper was one of the first things I put a deposit down for! I stumbled across one of the mini-me versions, and loved the idea of putting our own bits and pieces on it....my love of shoes, wine, our football teams etc. So, maybe naff for some, but for me, I just loved the idea. So much from the wedding is going to be disposable, and my dress won't ever get worn again, so to have something that can be a creepy talking point and bring back memories of the day, really appealed to me. It is expensive, but in my opinion is worth it, just as the cake, photographer, and welcome drinks are!

H2B doesn't know - he will just expect a standard topper, but I know he will love the one I have ordered, and am really looking foward to him seeing it on the day.

Everyone has different priorities, I guess. Chair covers, bunting, cake toppers - all down to the individual!

I really want a creepy talking point! I'm looking for a police man and an air hostess. However I don't have a huge amount to spend on one. Can anyone recommend somewhere to look please?

Haha Cinnamon! I'm so tempted to incorporate a subtle arse somewhere! ?

SaraPoppy - feel free to have a look at my facebook page (www.facebook.com/loveontopweddings) my toppers start at £34 for a pair. A police officer and an air hostess would be a tiny bit more (depending on accessories etc) but not much more.

Hmm, rather more than most, but I still had no hesitation in doing it - it's still less than the cake itself is costing!

But the deposit was only £10....she gets so booked up - up to a year in advance, so this was my way of reserving my time in the kiln!

Rest assured, I will flash when they are done Smiley smile

OP your cake sounds lovely and won't need a topper so it's entirely up to you if you want something additional or not.

Now here I am obsessed with creepy little talking points:

https://www.bobblegr.am/custom-movie-mr-and-mrs-smith-couple-wedding-cake-topper/ : the creepiness (apart from the whole gun toting bride idea) I think comes from the fact that her leg is as wide as her crinoline dress: Poor woman must have a horrible scoliosis or hip dysplasia under the frock.

/ideabooks/user/onewed-inspiration/9-wacky-wedding-cake-toppers/ : I have no words for some of these

https://fakinghell.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/4-bad_wedding-cake-ornament-p-11.jpg :I suspect that the last one won't be going on the mantlepiece!

Decide for yourself....but, yes, I know it is more than most will want to pay. I gave up my photobooth for these.....haha, and I love them so can't wait to get ours!

I'm making the Japanese 1,000 origami cranes to use as decoration for the ceremony room. I was just going to use some of the spare ones to decorate the naked cake, which my sister is making, but she was very disappointed when I told her I didn't want any icing for her to get creative with, so now she's going to make some sugarpaste sakura blossoms to go on top. Although, now I've seen those Totoro toppers I'm very tempted...!
