Can anyone recommend a good FOLK BAND??

AmyJMae, 7 of August of 2013 at 11:16 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hello,

I am searching for a good folk band for our barn wedding next year...

we are getting married in Staffordshire so i'm searching around the midlands area but am happy to search further afield.

so far i'm not having much joy but maybe i'm looking in the wrong places.

does anyone have any suggestions for a good rustic style folk band or any suggestions on how to find bands?

your help wil be much appreciated!

many thanks,

Amy

Have a listen to these guys

They live in Bucks but have just come back from their 2nd national tour supporting Paul Carrak. At the moment they are touring Austrailia, but will be back soon. Thay are very down to earth guys so I don't think they would charge more than any other wedding band.

Hope this helps and let me know if you like them.

Google "Mr Kanish". They're not available for my date but I would have booked them if they were. Or search for vintage wedding band, that should bring some up Smiley smile

Do you want a band for listening, general dancing or one with a caller for barn dancing? Saying 'Folk' is a bit like saying 'rock' and covers a multitude of musical styles.

It's festival season at the moment so there are lots to go and see to help you make a decision. We're having a ceilidh band we saw at Towersey three years ago and really liked.

If you really have no idea, I'd recommend havng a look at the programmes for Towersey, Trowbridge, Broadstairs for example, and looking them up on youtube for an idea of their style.
