Can I give my hotel room booking to someone else?

Cheesecake Factory, 18 September, 2008 at 19:45 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

I booked one of the Travelodge Saver rooms a few weeks ago. My younger brother has recently moved to Windsor and is desperate to take my daughter for a day out, so we got a room in Windsor mid-December. H has just come home and said his work Christmas party is on that night, I know how much he wants to go so I'm happy to move the dates around too. My brother will be fine about it anyway.

Can I give the room to a friend or family member to use? It's booked in my name, but not sure if you need to provide identification upon check in. Obviously, it's only a basic Travelodge so I doubt they'd need a credit card (or will they?). Any ideas? If I cancel the room I lose the money, it was only £10 anyway but I'd prefer that someone else gets to use it.

I've used a Travelodge room which a colleague had booked and then didn't need but I had to pretend to be her and give the first line of her address when checking in. As it was pre-paid, they didn't need my credit card.
