Can i wear a fur cover up/bolero in church ceremony?

Rosie, 25 October, 2024 at 21:24 Posted on Planning 0 1
I’ve got a beautiful strapless dress, but I’m getting married in winter, AND it’s a Catholic wedding so I know shoulders on show isn’t ideal for the actual ceremony. I was thinking I will have some kind of cover up, bolero or shoulder cover for the ceremony, and take it off for photos and the reception. I was looking at faux fur - but is it like wearing a coat inside? 🙈 I’m planning to get one that doesn’t distract too much from the dress, but didn’t know if it would look ok wearing to come down the aisle and for the ceremony.
Would love to see photos if anyone has done this!

I've seen brides wearing white faux fur boleros and it looks fine - just like a wintery wedding dress, not like they're wearing a coat.

Or you could go full-on drama like one of my friends who wore a floor-length cloak over her dress for the ceremony!
