    I refuse to feel guilty, how on earth did we know your child is ill?
    I am very sorry about that, what an awful time for you,
    but we were not to know, and yes, you can get rooms with fridges, and some holiday companies rent them out, you can find that all out by talking to the companies.

    Well why didn't you just say that? instead of making everyone feel like a cunt after the fact?

    i hate people who add to stories later [V]

    and while i'm sure everyone is sorry your daughter is ill it was still a very random question

    If you mention this to your rep they should be able to sort something for you.

    I m sorry about your daughter too, it must be hideous for you all.

    however, no, i dont feel guilty, because we were not to know, and you didnt tell us until now.

    most reasonable hotels will have mini bars. and i m sure that if you talk to them, they may be able to help you out anyway in terms of refridgeration.

    You know, I am genuinely sorry your daughter is ill, I can't imagine what that must be like. But, how were any of us to know that?

    You can't throw news like that at people in order to make them feel guilty, that's bloody low actually.

    I am genuinely sorry about your daughter, but shame on you using it to make us feel bad ☹️!]

    Why on earth would she need to tell everyone? She only asked a question.

    I REALLY dislike it when people decide if you don't provide every conceivable bit of information in your initial post you are back tracking or adding bits. If the reply had been "no you can't" she'd have had no reason to expand,its only because people asked she did.

    TBF, Hyacinth, it was a light ribbing about something daft until we found out about her daughter.

    I actually feel a bit shit about it now, and I probably shouldn't because I was mucking about and didn't know.

    Noverspark, I am genuinely sorry about your daughter.

    I'm sorry and I didn't mean to offend in any way. I'm sure if you explain the situation to the hotel/holiday rep they will make arrangements for you.

    The hotel I stopped in last august had a fridge, but the money grabbing management had cut all the cables on them so in order to use them you had to pay them for an extension lead to use it ?

    Personally I find a fridge useful for storing drinks, even with a hotel bar it's nice to have a drink whilst getting ready and of course any snacks like cheese and ham.

    Noverspark, would it be worthwhile emailing the hotel and explaining your situation? They may be able to store the meds for you or help out with a fridge.

    Well, just goes to show you never know whats going on in peoples lives.

    My sister had a serious accident 10 years ago. Iremember visiting her,walking out of the hospital to get stuff and wanting to KILL people who didn't treat me with the upmost respect (walking into me and the like) they weren't to know but you just get incredibly pissed off with peoples callouness, I could quite easily have snapped the way the OP was and made someone feel shite. Its a hard feeling to explain.

    Anyway hope the OP has a lovely holiday.

    Well I have just found a hire company that will hire one for 50 euros a week so will go with that I think just to be on the safe side.

    hold a second mrs sanctimonious. no one was horrible to her. it was an amusing question to ask, of course we re going to be curious and take the piss, just as most would on OT with a question like this. no one could have known the reason, and for you to get all snotty is totally OTT.

    Oh come on Hyacinth, you're being a bit sanctimonious here. The OP posted something deliberately to make people feel bad - that's not on. The original request did sound daft, people were bound to take the piss. If the OP hadn't wanted that reaction she should have said that her daughter has a medical condition that requires chilled medication originally.

    genuine question but one does one need a fridge for on holiday anyway?

    i've never needed one...
    id="quote">

    beer? vodka? gin? ?
    id="quote">

    Do you know nothing! That's why you have a bath in your room - reminds me of the summer after A levels. A bath full of ice and water and assorted booze. Being cheap student types we weren't paying hotel bar prices - oh no!?

    Noverspark, I'm glad you've found a solution about the fridge. I just wanted to mention something, although I'm sure you have done it, but as your daughter is seriously ill you really need to contact the airline for clearance for fly beforehand. If you haven't done this they may very well not let you travel until they have had time to check info etc.

    The reason I need afridge is because my daughter is seriously ill and will probably be her last holiday abroad and we need to keep her medication cool we coud not find a hotel avail with a fridge you lot will may feel slightly guilty for taking the piss now or maybe not as you seem to like taking the piss so this will probably give you more ammo.
    id="quote">

    I think that had you posted this in the first place asking for help solving the problem there would have been support and help rather than piss taking. People can only react to what they are given and a totaly out of the blue questions about takign a fridge on a plane is just asking for an "are you serious!" response.
