Canapés

Lynda, 28 August, 2023 at 06:22 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hi, we’re having a casual wedding which starts at 4pm with the ceremony followed by the reception around 6pm.
There will be a fish and chip and ice cream van which will be serving between 6-9pm.
The fish and chip van said they can serve 100 guests an hour and we have 110 guests.A friend of mine suggested that we may want to serve canapés while people wait for their fish and chips.I’m not sure if this is needed as most people will have had lunch. What does everybody think? Thank you.

If you let your guests know that food won't be served until 7pm (as that should be about the latest serving) then they can plan lunch accordingly. For some people, 7pm dinner is late and they will be drinking alcohol so you want guests to be prepared. It's not so late that I think you need to consider canapés, more just make guests aware that's when they will be fed.

That’s a good idea, I’ll add a schedule of times onto our wedding website so that everybody knows. Thank you
