Caroline Castigliano/Jenny Packham - Stole

roccoco1, 27 October, 2008 at 13:02 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi All,

Has anyone brought or tried on the fur wrap/stole at Jenny Packham called Cygnet? I'm trying to find out the price and where the best place would be to get the best price :-)

Caroline Castigliano also do a simular one in ivory.

Thanks :-)

Presuming you have tried ebay? or second hand wedding dress sites? (think there is one called sellmydress?)

best thing to do is contact wedding shops nearby, see who stocks, see how quickly they can get it and who does the best price.

if not, maybe try something different? there is a website called wonderfulwraps i think - you might find something similar there.

    good luck.

    Hi rococo1,

I bought Cygnet for my wedding last year - it is absolutely stunning and I felt amazing with it on.

I bought it directly from Jenny Packham's Belgravia store and it cost £600 (gulp). I felt it was worth it to me, although it was really expensive, as I didn't find anything similar which was anywhere near as beautiful and it went so perfectly with my dress. Plus, I'm sure it's something I will wear again as it's timeless and will go with plenty of other evening dresses.

No idea about the Caroline Castigliano one, but if it's made with real feathers (as the JP one is), it's likely to be a similar price I would have thought.

eBay is probably your best bet for a second-hand one, or maybe try a bridal shop locally that stocks JP dresses as they might be able to do you a deal?

    Hi SparkleJunkie,

Do you have any pics with you in it? Only reason I ask is I'd like to see how you wore it, I was thinking of having it closed with a brooch and just off my shoulders.

Would you consider selling yours? Or even hiring it to me for a fee, plus I'd ensure it's cleaned after?

thx for listening and your advise.

oh one more thing.....how long did it take to get it delievered?

    Hi Rococo1,

I'm really sorry (please don't be offended) but I wouldn't want to part with my stole, I'm afraid - it's really precious to me. I'd advise you to go and try it on - and then if you love it, go for it. You only get to do this once, remember!

I bought it and collected it directly from Jenny Packham's store in London. Not sure where you're based but if you're able to get to the store, I'd really recommend it - they are so lovely in there and you get to try the full range. They may even have an alternative to Cygnet that you prefer.

I just had a look on eBay, but couldn't see one available at the moment. Might be worth googling or advertising on one of the other wedding forums (assuming you haven't already) to see if anyone has one for sale.

can't figure out how to insert a picture here - if you drop me your email address i can send you once though.

sorry i can't be of more help
