Ceilidh Band

Hi this is my first post Smiley smile


I have just been let down by my ceilidh band, so i am back at square 1 trying to find a new one - so if anyone could recommend a good lively ceilidh band in Glasgow/Ayrshire area it would be greatly appreciated!!

    The band we're having is called The Big Shoogle but they do a mix of ceilidh and covers if that's any use? There was also a good ceilidh band called Crowded Croft but its been a few years since I saw them so not sure if they're still going. Worth a try?

    I can recommend Compass Rose ceilidh band; they're based in Yorkshire, but their daughter is at Glasgow uni and they come up fairly regularly to perform. I went to a ceilidh they performed at a few weeks ago, and they were excellent.

    If you don't get sorted with a band, I know a lot of DJs in the Glasgow area that also offer ceilidh and they do the calling too.

    Have you looked on jigs and reels? They used to have lots of bands in your area.
