CELEBRITY SLIM

Debbie Graham Jewellery, 30 December, 2009 at 17:15 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 20

I have decided to have a go at the "celebrity slim" diet, after doing some reading up on it.

Have just ordered my start up pack & a weeks worth of meal replacements along with a recipe book for the 1 meal I will be allowed each day.

Once it arrives, I will let you all know how I get on.

I have sod all staying power but aparently this new diet that is sweeping Australia, is a good one to try... we will asee.

I only orderd it today (weds) so will have to wait until it arrives in the post

I have received my starter pack of goodies this morning (sat 2nd Jan 2010) & have just had my first meal replacement shake.

It was a chocolate one & was absolutely gorgeous, I was a little wary that it would tast very powdery as it has to be mixed with water but it was really creamy & deffo tasted of chocolate, which is a major plus for me as I am SUCH a chocoholic.

Did my firstt weigh-in & took all my measurements, so will see how it all goes.

I am going to try this for 8 weeks (& will try my hardest not to cheat)

Will post up on here, my totally honest opinions of it. (ie) If I get starving on it, etc

I really would love to lose near on 3 stone (I know I wont do this in the 8 weeks I am going to try this for) & even if I do manage that, I am still not going to be skinny but I know that come holiday times, I will feel much better in my bikini on the beach (always been very self conscious)

I am going on extra long dog walks with my dog, she doesnt know what has hit her & has been totally knackered these last few days of our walks but I guess the more exercise I can get in, the better the weight loss will be.

I am fortunate that I work from home, so can find the time to fit all of this in. Theres no way I am going to shame myself at our local gym, they are all skinny minnies there..lol. Plus walking is free too!!

For any of you who fancy giving it a go, here is the link for the site. www.celebrityslim.co.uk

I wish you all the best with the Celebrity slim. I looked into it but I like to eat too much & was worried something like a shake wouldn't fill me up. My sister did something similar called lighter life where she she did the meal replacement thing for about 9 months and lost 5 or 6 stone. Unfortunately when it came to re-introducing proper food she couldn't stick with the food suggested and over time has put it all back on again! I'm going back down the tried & tested Weight Watchers because I know I can still stuff my face with stuff like sugar free jelly, salad, carrot sticks and soup.

I remember from wp that you're engaged too, when is it that you're getting married?

I look forward to seeing how you get on x

    Hiya,

I had a look at the lighter life thing but the cost totally put me off.... so expensive but I suppose if somebody has alot of weight to lose, then they will give almost anything a try.#

I know a few people who have done the lighter life diet & have lost LOADS of weight, one of them has struggled though to keep the weigh off now that they have "proper" food introduced again.

At the mo, I weigh far too much for my liking , so am looking at losing approx 3 stone this year. I have put on a stone since my hols in October (naughty me) but lke you, I LOVE my food & I have to admit, that I am a little sceptical about doing 2 meal replacements per day combined with a "proper" meal once a day.

I got a recipebook to go with this celeb slim thing & I can eat most of the stuff that I already do (I love my meats) so looking at what I am allowed, I dont think it will impact to hard on the rest of my broods eating.

Think you must have me mixed up with somebody else on wp, I am not newly engaged. I am an old wed!! it will be 6 years this year for me (thats if I dont waste away on this diet..lol)

I am always posting up on wp as I make wedding jewellery & tiaras for a living, so am a listed supplier up there, so you will have seen my name pop up from time to time.

Let me know how you get on with ww, Ive tried it in the past but always give up Smiley sad

Good luck with your weight loss

    Debbie

I think it's totally different to lighter life, I wouldn't even attempt that diet for 500 cals a day, it's absurd!

from what I've researched, celebrity slim is made by a pharmaceutical company in Austrailia and just come over to this country. saw it in my local chemist and it looks really good and think the price is reasonable, compared to a diet such as lighter life. I've been on the austrailian website and the forum is really possitive. It's not a fad diet, it's a meal replacement and it's not about starving yourself, which is so important.

I have done 4 full days on this & just about to enter into my 5th & I can honestly say, that I DO NOT feel hungry one little bit on this diet.

According to the scales (yes we all jump on them everyday when we start a new diet) I have lost 4lbs so far. Now I realise that this is my "water" weight that I am losing at first but it sure as heck makes me feel good.

I got the recipe book that goes with the diet & have been making meals from that for my evening meal. They are delicious meals in there. Looking at them, I thought... ohh that will never fill me & I am sure to go hungry after only eating such a small amount.... but the food does fill me & I dont even want a desert afterwards (I alwys pigged out on chocky deserts after)

I never have done breakfast so I wait until lunchtime & have a celebrity slim soup (very peppery & to be honest all taste the same) - I then have a small piece of fruit before my evening meal. I make the evening from the recipe book & it helps that my hubby is having the same with me for evening meal (still have to cook something a little diff for my 13 yr old son)

I then have the celebrity shake for my supper. Evening times after my food were always the worst time for me picking at crappy foods but I just dont need to do that anymore.

I am doing more exercise though but only taking my dog out on longer walks & with the deep snow here in YOrkshire at the mo, the dog walks are taking much longer as its harder going under foot, so more calories burning there.

I feel really really good in myself on this diet, infact I dont even feel like I am dieting.

I have my 1st weigh in due on Friday, so will then be able to guage how much I have lost in total

I was hoping to lose 1lb per week (which is realistic) so anything over that is a bonus.

As I said on WP well done on the weight loss, glad to hear that you're feeling full with the celebrity slim diet. Are there different flavour shakes & soups to vary it?Good luck with th enext 7 weeks and keep putting on here how you're getting on. Have you thought about what you're gonna do long term? As I said with my sister she lost her weight gradually with the lighter life diet but then put it back on far too easily (don't we all) so I suppose its about thinking long term about how to keep healthy (this is as much for me!!).

Keep up the will power ?

    Hiya..

When I purchased this diet, I went for the starter pack, which had all the flavour shakes in & a couple of the soups, so I got an idea of flavours & can work out which ones I like or dont like.

To be honest the soups all taste (& smell) the same, they are very peppery but I think that this is probs so you get a good kick of flavour in them to not make you want anything else..lol

The shakes are GORGEOUS & as a confirmed chocoholic I can vouch for the choc variety ones!! There are also vanilla, strawberry & banana flavours too. I'm not so keen on the banana flavour but they are ok.

I found that when I went to our local supermarket, that their own brand slimming soups were a good alternative to the celeb slim soups. Plus the added bonus is that they are cheaper. They have less carbs & fat per 100ml than the celeb slim ones, so I have changed to those & got used to having that soup now for my lunch.

I have never eaten breakfast (ever since becoming an adult after years of force fed ready brek by my mum when I was younger) but I now have a small apple.

Mid morning, I make something from the celeb slim recipe book & have a piece of that (its an allowable snack) then lunchtime I have just my soup.

Mid afternoon I have a piece of fruit, then for my "proper" evening meal I cook up something from my celeb slim recipe book & there are some nice things in that. My hubby has the same as me for evening meal but I just add extras to his, like potatoes, etc, so that it fills him more. I have to cook something different for my 13 year old son though but I find I can use the same kind of ingredients from my recipe book & just cook him something more filling (he is like a blooming bean pole & certainly does not take after me)

Then later on in the evening time, I have my celeb slim shake, which is a much better idea for me, as evening times were when I started to pick at rubbishy foods (bags of crisps/buscuits) I am really enjoying it & dont feel like I am on any kind of diet, plus I feel like I am eating much more healthier now & dont feel the need to pig out later on stodgy food.

I am hoping that by doing this, in the long term my body & stomach will become used to the better food it is getting & that my mind will be conditioned to that way of thinking, so I wont think twice about leaving crappy foods out of my diet.

At the end of the day.... Any diet works if we eat less & exercise, we can all give excuses for not losing weight but eventually the buck stops with us & we are the ones who can do something about it all, that is unless there is some medical reason behind our weight.

Good luck with your diet & let me know how you are gettting on

Only 1 lb off this weigh in but I have got my period at the mo & find that I really bloat up & seem to weigh more at this time of the month.

A pound off is better than a pound on..?

YAY!!! 6lbs off this week!!!! That make a whole stone in 4 weeks.

I have been doing extra exercise though, so that will be why.

This cutting back on my carbs is really working for me, I was aiming for 3 stone loss before we go away later in the year but if I carry on at this rate, I will be wasting away..lol

Just want to feel good in my bikini when I am sat on the beach next to all the skinny minnies...

Glad to hear you're doing the exercise as well. I've managed to break my wrist so had my arm in plaster for 2 1/2 weeks & am only half way through. Am still managing to lose a bit of weight but its not really showing as I need to tone my body as well. Hope there's enough time left before the wedding to tone my bingo wings!! If you come across any good exercises for that area please let know (especially if they don't include lifting or balancing the weight on your wrist!!

Hope you've had a good couple of weeks of weight loss. Whats your total now?

Aww you poor thing... good that you are still managing to lose a few pounds though. I went over on my ankle 10 days ago & the hospital could not decide if it was fractured or not, in the end they decided that I had just sprained it badly but I have just been back this morning to the review clinic (9am apptment on a sunday!!) & as my ankle is no better & I am in so much pain with it still, they have decided to put me in a pot!!

I am really hacked off as I am SO busy with my jewellery orders at the moment & as my little jewellery making room is upstairs I am having to struggle to get up & down the stairs. I am not allowed to put my foot to the floor with this pot.. ah well could be alot worse.

Have not weighed myself since I injured myself 10 days ago & there is no way I am getting on the scales with a pot on, so will have to wait & see how it all pans out.

Back at the hospital in the morning to the fracture clinic as the pot that has been put on today is only a temp one, I get to chose the colour of the permanent one on Monday.

Hope you manage to get on ok with your pot.

    Hi Debbie,

Hows the celebrity Slim going? I started the cambridge diet a couple of days ago & am surpised that I haven't really been hungry yet. I'm having more trouble trying to drink the 2 1/4 litres of water during the day & was up most of Wed night. Hope I get into a routine soon.

    Hi,

Hope you are well & recovered from your wrist injury??

Well done on your 12lb weight loss, that is fantastic!!

Since injuring my ankle, I have not been aboe to get about like I wanted to, so I am afriad that the celeb slim went on the back burner for a while. I fully intend to start it all back again & have set 1st April as my new start date. I think what made my mind up was something my hubby said last night when we were watching something on the tv.

He mentioned that a person on the tv looked just like me... she was huge!!! It really upset me that he obvs see's me as that size (I dont think we really see ourselves as fat unless we see a photo or something similar of ourselves..well I dont anyway)

Anyway.. Its prob done me the world of good as I now realise I had let things slip.. so its back to it.

Is the cambridge diet expensive?? What are the choices like? I think it is similar to the celeb slim thing isnt it.. shakes & gallons of water

Let me know how you get on with it & if you want to email me, you can do so to mey personel email address: ***************@***.***

How are the wedding plans coming along?

    Speak to you soon

    Debbie
