centerpiece ideas please

okikokikate, 26 January, 2013 at 14:36 Posted on Planning 0 20

Need some ideas for cheap centerpieces.

Got a small budget, not sure on table names yet.

I like candles if that helps.

Something easy so it wont take too much of my time in the morning Smiley smile

If possible for less than £15 a table as I have a lot of tables

I'm on a budget too so we've gone for mirror tile with a vase with flowers on and four tealight candles, like this: (if this works)

Got the tiles, vases, candles and candle holders all from ikea

What time of year are you getting married? Do you have a colour or theme?

You can make a cheap centrepiece from apples, oranges, peppers or pumpkins. Fruit is only £1 a bowl & even cheaper when bought in bulk at markets. Or get dried tree branches, spray with glitter spray, set in concrete/plaster of paris in a small pot in the centre. You can then cover the pot with moss/coloured paper & hang charity shop beads/crystals etc from the tree.

I bought my vase centrepieces from ebay when a hire shop was closing down. I bought round, mirrors for underneath then got small, glass candle holders from charity shops. 2 tables had slightly different little cangle holders to the other tables, but no one noticed. I had floralytes (waterproof lights) in the bottom of each vase & that really made them noticeable. I then had crystal accents inside (a powder that turns to a jelly when you add water & can look like balls or ice). I bought orchids from a flower market a few days before, but any longer lasting flower would do.

What about a small bay tree or herbs in pots in the centre. They could double as favours. A small rose or orange bush in a pot in the centre?

Here are some pics for inspiration:

How about large photo frames with photos of you both with some candles around it?

Charger plates with candles of different heights arranged on it.. could add some random petals or flower heads in your colour scheme?

What time of year are you getting married?? Lots of ideas dependent on time of year

I sprayed jam jars with frosting spray and tied ribbon around the necks.

Sand and candles inside. Cheap as chips Smiley smile

Do you have a particular colour for BMs etc?

Summer weddings make me think of the seaside.

I always remember Mrs C's centrepieces - simple lanterns but they looked lovely.

I shan't flash on her behalf, I am sure she'll be along at some point.

We have gone for small fishbowls on mirror plates (bought from floristsupplies), we are putting turquoise gel beads (so cheap from ebay) in the bowls and 3 purple flowers head (we got some cheap bunches of silk flowers from wilkinsons and have just pulled the flower heads off!) with some purple grass (ebay again). You could always put some tea lights on the mirror plates too.
