Ceremony music

Sinéad, 16 September, 2022 at 15:40 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 1 8
Hello ladies,
Wondering if you could help me pretty please 😃. We need to pick our music for the ceremony. So background songs for while the guest are being seated , then something to walk down the aisle to and a few for the ceremony while we are singing the registry. Any ideas welcome .

Thanks Sinéad x

We just went on spotify and searched wedding ceremony music and loads of playlists came up, we went through and found some we liked and made a list and gave to registrars, once approved a friend then just played the playlist we created through a Bluetooth speaker. We chose some simple acoustic songs to play, but there are so many choices so have look through and am sure you will find ones you like

Something to factor in with walking down the aisle songs is tempo and fade out point! I had a few on a shortlist and part of my ultimate decision came down to the fact that (a) the song has a consistent tempo meaning the bridesmaids and I won't naturally be speeding up and slowing down as we're walking haha and (b) our venue said the aisle length based on our guests (so rows of chairs) and number of bridesmaids would mean we need about 90 seconds of song and the song I've picked goes into a little instrumental at around 90 seconds which means it will fade out nicely rather than bluntly cut off mid line

Consider there are multiple versions of the same song on things like Spotify so if one doesn't sound quite right to you then consider another version of it. I knew what song I wanted to walk down the aisle to but I went through about 5 versions to find my favourite.

    Hi ,

Ya I think this is a good idea too. There are so many versions. We think we are going to go with somewhere over the rainbow it's one of my favourite songs. We just have to pick the other songs now 🙈 we are also going to use you got a friend in me our kids love that song so we will probably us that when the four of us are doing the sand ceremony. I also checked with the lady marrying us to see how long the songs should be. So we will be making the final decision when she get back to me

This is my Bridgerton inspired playlist for background music during canapés and wedding breakfast. The oldie’s loved it and it drove some of the younger ones crazy guessing the songs!
