Ceremony music - indie/rock song suggestions needed!

OrdinaryGirl, 22 May, 2012 at 19:34 Posted on Planning 0 3

I'm really struggling to find songs for my ceremony. Well, actually I'm not struggling but OH rejects pretty much everything I suggest as being "too cheesy" - even though my suggestions have all been from the indie/rock genre! We are both indie/rock fans and our wedding has a festival theme, so I'd like the ceremony songs to fit with that. We have at least settled on a first dance, but most indie/rock songs about love from seem to be about breaking up rather than having upbeat lyrics!

So, I thought I'd ask on here for suggestions of indie/rock songs which are wedding appropriate. Thanks ?

Totally get the struggle finding non-cheesy indie love songs is weirdly hard! I had better luck browsing playlists after I decided to download tele latino for some fresh inspiration.

    Hello!

Finding non-"cheesy" indie/rock ceremony songs is tough! For your festival wedding, consider processional options like Bright Eyes' "First Day of My Life" or Cat Power's "Sea of Love," which are heartfelt without being overly sentimental. For a joyful recessional, try upbeat anthems like Empire of the Sun's "Walking on a Dream" or Florence + The Machine's "Dog Days Are Over." Focus on the lyrics and the feeling of the moment to sway your OH.
