Ceremony place change........maybe ?

Just for the marriage service my church is just under £500

Thats not bad, my venue charge £495 for the hire of the room and then you've got registrar costs on top

The church my parents got married in works put around £400, as she looked it up after I books the registry office thinking maybe I would change my mind full well knowing I didn't want a church wedding. Our registry office fees work put all in all over £500.

Around £500 seems the norm

It varies, so you need to contact the church. There's a central C of E tariff, then the local parish add what they want on top. It tends to be between £400 and £800 all together.

My Church charged me £630.00.

I think the standard cost is around £500 but once we added on all the extras (flowers to decorate church, donation to the farmer for parking on his land, organist, choir, bell ringers, church cleaners etc) we are looking at not far short of £1000. Bare all the add ons in mind if you do decide to change...though if you were orginally happy with a civil ceremony you may not be fussed about these things...

I've received my answer from the church about costs etc, the date we want is available and we're going ahead with the church wedding now.....eeeek! :-)
