Ceremony seating plan

Georgia, 13 January, 2021 at 17:26 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hello,

Alike most of you i am very new to this and want to make sense of things before rushing into them!

I would like to do a seating plan for the ceremony, all the weddings I have been to never do this, but due to a lot of... lets say, situations.... on my side of the family i want to make a seating plan so there can be no issues on the day as to who sits where etc etc etc... is this acceptable and do you think it will work?

Depending on how traditional your wedding is going to be... ushers are usually charged with making sure people take a seater the ceremony. If you have ushers, you could always have a secret, unofficial one that the ushers work with! No one else would need to know.

What about doing it with humour and as a feature. You could maybe issue wedding tickets as a novelty factor that have seat numbers? You could even name the rows in keeping with your theme? So let’s say you had a flower theme wedding and planned to name your tables after types of flower, you could do the same with the rows... So a ticket could say, Row daffodil, seat 5 ? So cute!! X

If it's just immediate family that pose the problem, you could just have designated chairs for them - if they think they're getting designated seating due to being guests of honour, they shouldn't make a fuss over it.

If it's wider family or friends then the only way forward is designated seating for everyone. I love the suggestion of themed rows @StarfishMoon suggested.
