There are other factors - the amount of guests - sit down 3 course meal or buffet. Then how many bridesmaids and people needing to get ready in the morning - 12 is quite early 3 is a bit late so to optimum time is 1.00 1.30 or 2pm (funny I have never seen a 15 minute timing like 1.15 or 1.45 )

Say it was 1.30 with 40-60 guests

out mingling by 2pm 1.5 hours drinks garden games chatting photos is 3.30 call in for food

Eat at 3.45

full on 3 course silver service / coffee allow 3 hours including speeches so its now 6.30pm

Eve guest arrive 7pm
