Champagne Bucket/Ice Bucket

I've just opened a wedding present from some family friends. They've got us a champagne bucket AND an ice bucket:



Now I always thought that you'd put ice in a champagne bucket to keep the bottle cool. What do I do with the ice bucket?!

    For cocktails, long drinks etc.

    Bottle of Champagne in the bucket with some ice to keep it cool. Ice bucket on the side or a table to add to drinks after you pour them.

    Lovely presents, im a bit jealous now but all i can now think about is a nice glass of chilled white wine

    I'd normally consider myself quite wordly wise in respect of these kind of things but I really wasn't sure so thanks for the help. I guess the ice bucket would be used more if we had a lot of people round with the drinks out to help themselves.
