Choosing a bridesmaid

Hi. I am going back and forth and keeping me up at night trying to decide whether I should ask someone to be my bridesmaid or not. I have 4 already. 3 best friends and sister in law. The last person I’m deliberating on I have been family friends with since we were born. I always envisaged her being a bridesmaid. I was MOH to her wedding a few years ago. I have a lot more friends than her, and over the last few years our friendship has distanced a bit. I don’t feel like she makes any effort with me or takes interest in my life. Despite me helping her a lot over the years, making effort with her and her kids etc. I keep going back and forth on whether to. Should you because you were theirs? We just aren’t as close, but I’m worried she’ll be upset, even though if she really thought about it is it surprising? Help.
