Do brides still wear a veil over their face up the aisle?

Personal choice - I'm not, as it makes me feel all claustrophobic!!

Who goes first bride or bridesmaids?

Bride and Groom, followed by CBM and BM, bridesmaids / ushers normally paired up with BM's then parents, but swapped over MOB with FOB etc - I think!

• Where do the bridesmaids sit or stand (should they remain standing?) during the service?

Normally to the left of the bride, and depends on the vicar as to when they sit down - sometimes stay standing till after the ceremony then sit for the sermon. The front row is normally reserved for bridal party and parents.

They stood for the vows and then after they sat (i think, as i remember looking at the ushers so i didn't cry)

WSS...at the weddings I've been to recently, anyway. Think it's usual to wear the veil up to the altar then your dad (or whoever's walking you down the aisle) or a bm lifts it when you get there...

Dont panic!!! your vicar/minister will go through alllll of that during the rehearsal and there are no rules about veils, its the 21st century! ?
