Church wedding readings?

ExpensiveRedBridesmaid46, 13 September, 2014 at 11:50 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi,

I am currently thinking about what readings to have at my church ceremony and wondering what brides out there are having? I don't know where to start!

What denomination church are you getting married in? Only asking because they differ as to how many/what type of readings you have to include.

I think for CofE weddings you only have to have one bible reading, the rest could be poems etc which you feel are relevant or meaningful to you.

This website has a few passages that talk about love or relationships:

    http://www.yourchurchwedding.org/your-wedding/readings.aspx

Here is the Church of England guide to the marriage service

    https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-worship/worship/texts/pastoral/marriage.aspx

1 Corinthians Chapter 13 is a popular one (love is patient, love is kind etc)

    Hope this helps!
