Civil ceremony in Rome

rachylowery, 21 January, 2025 at 07:48 Posted on Planning 1 6
Hello everyone,
Hoping someone may be able to provide advice. My partner & I have decided to get married in Rome, small affair 50 guests. I'm concerned as we have to marry within 6 months of receiving our Certificate of no impediment. We know our reception plans but would it be silly to proceed with all other bookings & not have a confirmed date for our ceremony? We're aiming for 23rd May 2026, civil in the town hall (Campidoglio). They have kindly said we can reserve our date in October this year. Anyone had this experience? Fyi I opted not to go with a wedding planner as budget is tight and one quote was £5,000. Thank you

    Hello, rachylowery!

I have a person who can help you with the logistics and planning. She lives in Rome (20 minutes from Campidoglio) and is available for a free Zoom call.

Feel free to write me in DM!

It's understandable to be hesitant about booking without a confirmed date, but securing preferred vendors early TDCJ Inmate Search can have advantages. Be upfront with vendors about the uncertainty and prioritize flexible cancellation policies. Consider a phased approach: reserve key elements with flexibility, then confirm after securing your marriage date.

" Beanie hats offer warmth and style, just as a civil ceremony in Rome provides an intimate and elegant wedding experience. With historic venues, breathtaking architecture, and a romantic atmosphere, the city makes a perfect setting. Legal requirements are straightforward, and professional planners help ensure a seamless event. Just like a well-crafted hat adds charm to an outfit, a beautifully arranged ceremony creates unforgettable memories in Italy’s timeless capital."

I guess it depends on how upset you will be if you can't have the legal marriage in Rome on the same day as the reception. If you are happy to be a bit more flexible, you could go ahead and book your reception, and then if once you get to October, the actual reception date is not available, you could either consider getting legally married in the UK or having your civil ceremony in Rome a few days before the reception. You could then have some kind of celebrant-led ceremony at the actual reception.
