I had the following, played by my BIL on piano:

Pre-ceremony: Selection of Einaudi and Phamie Gow (nice background piano music)

Bridal entrance: Intermezzo from Cavaleria Rusticana

Signing the register: piano versions of Savage Garden Truly Madly Deeply and Jennifer Rush Power of Love

Exit: piano version of Faith Hill This Kiss

Stick them in Youtube and have a listen!

What type of music did you want? Modern instramental versions of songs or classical just chilled? Have you listened to ludovico Einaudi? He makes loves instramental music and you'll recognise a lot of the tracks without realising as they are in alot of adverts and on VoiceOver bits, lovely romantic and passionate peices of music, try the essential Einaudi album listen to a few tracks on you tube or iTunes

If it helps, these are what we're having:

Guests arriving: adagio for strings, william orbit

Walking down the aisle: I giorni, einaudi

signing the register: air on the g string, bach

Walking out: mint car, the cure

The last one has words, the rest don't. Can't wait to hear them!

    Thanks everytone

Will definitely check out ludovico Einaudi - sounds just up my street Smiley smile I want modern music as opposed to traditional wedding songs, but as instrumental background music. Just wasn't keen on the Vitamin String Quartet style that my DJ suggested.

Loving Abba's I do I do to .... keep the suggestions coming please as bet they are some fab ones out there that I could choose from. Really want a fab fun one to walk up the aisle to after the ceremony, and thinking Ellie Gouldings 'How Long will I Love You' song to walk down the aisle to.... but would want the words to that played. What do you think ?

Problem for me is I have never been to a civil ceremony before so not sure how they go

Thanks again everyone, really appreciate your help and ideasSmiley smile

I am in no way a fan of classical music, so yes I'm thinking I should have because its what people do !!! If I can give it a wide berth I would be chuffed to bits Smiley smile

I just need to find the right instrumental versions of more modern songs I suppose if possible

Why would you have something you dislike then on your wedding day?! It's silly.

Why instrmuntal versions? Words are allowed in civil ceremonies y'know

Why do they have to be instrumentals, and you having them performed? The great thing about a civil ceremony is that so long as the music isn't religious, you can have whatever you want!

We're having songs, with words, just as they are originally performed. Why do you want instrumentals?

If you like certain songs, have them x

OK Thanks everyone. Sorted then no instrumentals Smiley smile

I just assumed because the DJ said that is the route most people go, I had to.

Great to know ... happy music finding now Smiley smile

We're not having any classical music- our thoughts behind this were- we don't listen to classical so why would we have it on the biggest day of our lives?

walking down the aisle- Rihanna diamonds

signing the register- solu music fade (the 9 minute version so we don't have to have 2/3 songs)

walking out- Florence and the machine- you've got the love

We are having an acoustic duo playing called rock my reception. We thought it would have a bit more of a personal touch. We can choose what songs we would like but we are still in debate!!!! Always something to debate!!!!
