Civil Ceremony - Order of Service

GeordieBarbie, 14 November, 2009 at 16:15 Posted on Planning 0 8

I was thinking of doing an order of service but can't think what to include.

Anyone got any examples for a civil ceremony?

Thanks!

I'm going to do an order of the day rather than order of service for my civil service. So brief outline of ceremony, then put that drinks outside afterwards, then time of meal etc.

Marvelous! I'm going to save this a template (if I ever get round to making OoS - kind of still stuck on invites at the mo). do you think its necessary? I mean as a guest would you like to know what's happening when, or just go with the flow? and would you write which songs are being played in the background?

Yeah - I do like it when you get an "official programme" at weddings ?

Not sure what to do about mine actually. Have made a one that matches my info sheets and stationery but have decided it won't look right for the Order of Service. It's one sheet of A4 folded twice to make a little booklet (if you get what I mean) - but I think for this, it would look too cheap.

    Mine (currently) has:

Front Cover: initals, date and venue (matches the info sheet)

    Inside 1: Bridal party into

    Inside 2: Order of Service

Back Cover: Order of the Day

    How's everyone else doing theres?

This might sound silly but I thought order of service was just for church weddings??? Is this something I've forgotten about ?

Mines kinda similar but im having a church wedding so will have order of the service with hymns and readings in, and then an order of the day bit with timings on, and a page of thank yous with names of best man, MOH, BM's Priest etc. Think thats it.

Im having a civil ceremony but not having an OOS. I don't think you can't have one if it's a CC, but I don't really think they're needed, the only time I've been to a wedding that's had them has been a church wedding and tbh, I only really needed it to check what hymns they were having x
