Civil Reading - James Dillet Freeman

Gemma958, 18 October, 2011 at 11:42 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hi there, I am new to this but wondering whether anyone knows whether Blessing for a Marriage by James Dillet Freeman will be ok for a civil cermony? I love it and really want to use it but concerned as he was a minister and it does have the word "spiritual" in it, but otherwise no overt religious meaning that I can tell. Tempted to call registrar and ask but other half doesnt think we should raise it as an issue and should just include it when we submit readings nearer the time and see if they have a problem with it.

Has anyone used this or seen it used in a Civil ceremony..??

Many thanks

G

There's no harm in checking with the Registar if its something that you want to do. you can always have a look through the various readings available. They can give you a feel for what sort of language they use

I can assure you that James Dillet Freeman was no conventional minister, and that "Blessing for a Marriage" has been used in countless civil ceremonies! If you have any more questions about him or his work, feel free to contact me at *********@*****.***.

    Best wishes!
