Civil wedding vows in Scotland

I think - unless u are writing your own - its pretty much the same as a church, with repeatitve lines like 'I PG take you Babe to be my wedding hubby... and with this ring I thee wed etc etc etc....

did the reg office not give you a copy?

Hiya, i may be wrong but think it can vary depending on the registrar. I was told that they wouldn't know who would be conducting our ceremony until a couple of days beforehand but if I wanted they'd get the registrar to give me a call to go over things.

How you feeling? I can't believe how quickly time is passing!

The registrar wouldn't give me a copy saying that they don't like people to memorise them but I'm struggling with knowing how we can put our own words in when I don't know what the legal parts are exactly.

Debbie with regards to the wedding I'm fine but stressing out totally with the business. Got so many orders and they keep coming in (shhhh don't tell Lisa that otherwise she might kill me) so just don't have time to concentrate on the wedding. Might not be a bad thing though.

We need to have a weddingy weekend and head to Flowerscene, get hip flasks engraved, put engagement ring in for cleaning and to be made bigger, still got my bm comb and fg wand to make, drop tiara orders off at 2 of the shops, think about honeymoon stuff......[:'(]. Bless my mum though as she is doing a lot of my honeymoon clothes ironing right now.

I'm good thanks. Yes, really excited about it now. For ages I wasn't bothered about it at all, but I think thats because I thought we'd end up with the type of hen night I didn't want, I think it'll be fine now cos the girl who was showing my bm's around said that they don't really allow anything tacky in there.

Like you now its just lots of wee things I have to do. The wedding itself is pretty well organised, its the bride herself who isn't!! ?

PG I got 2 versions from our registrar, only have them on paper do you want me to type them up and mail them over to you??

We are going to do ours this week so would be doing it anyway

That would be great but I can wait until you are typing them up anyway. Still got 3 weeks to go so can wait until then.

Sorry not really sure what the vows are. We're having a humanist wedding so we've customed everything. I do recall my friend saying that her vows dont include the words "i do" which she was quite upset about. ☹️ its a civil wedding shes having.x

As it has been said in a previous post though it may vary. We just like the idea of getting to write everything from start to finish ? We eventually decided to include the sand ceremony ?

We said 'I will' (Church wedding)

I got the wording sent out to me for our vows - its East Ayrshire Council we are getting married with.

Likewise I can type up what I've got an e-mail it to you if you want??? Just let me know.
