Collecting menu options

Lucy, 12 February, 2023 at 12:15 Posted on Feedback to Hitched 0 3
Hello, can someone help me to set up my wedding website so that I can collect the information for a three course meal for each guest?
I currently have it set up so each guest can order a main, bit I also need to know their starter and dessert as well. How do I do this?

    Hi Lucy,

I couldn't find any way of doing it other than writing all the options out eg.

    a) Starter 1, Mains 1, Dessert 1

    b) Starter 2, Mains 1, Dessert 1

    c) Starter 3, Mains 1, Dessert 1

    etc...

Would be interesting if someone knew an easier way of doing this.

They don't have one. I have been in contact with Hitched and they don't have an option to collate this information. They advise similar to what people have advised above. I find it very disappointing and 'old age' almost!

And.....once your guests have already confirmed attendance, they can't go back in to pick a food option. So be sure to do it all in one go!

    Best of luck x

I did it this way, and although it's a bit finicky, it's easier than typing out each option:

Under "Guest List", where there's the "Overview" and "Ceremony" tabs, click the plus (+) sign and say something like "First Course".

Click into the "First Course" tab, and then click the purple "Settings" text, which is in the right-hand corner, above the confirmed/pending/declined section.

Select "Track Menus"; this will allow the menu option to show up on your "Confirm Attendance" page.

Add each course option for the first course (e.g., all of the appetiser options), then click "Save".
Note: It seems that Hitched doesn't save non-alphabetical characters, including commas, to this. You may have to reword some menu options for clarity (I haven't done this yet in my example below).

Repeat these steps for each course.

Go to your wedding website, and look at the "Confirm Attendance" page. There should now be three additional options when someone goes to confirm attendance. If they mark "Attending" to the ceremony, then just select their meal options, then the meal options will still save, even though those options will be "pending".

I just wrote a note at the top of the form telling them that it's not necessary to mark each course as "Attending".
