Thanks Jumbly Girl! Purple and silver will be lovely. Can I ask why the peacock colour scheme wouldnt work with your dress? just curious as my colour scheme might change yet too!

The peacock scheme probably would have worked and I'm just being fussy....

My dress is a very 1930s Hollywood glam style and I had a chat with the florist and we agreed that my bouquet needs to be really simple and bold (rather than the bouquet with peacock feathers and fussy flowers that I'd originally set my heart on). And that's really changed the theme of the wedding a bit....

But as I said before, it will probably all change again next week. ?

    Hi Moonpig,

Our colour scheme is midnight blue and silver too and I totally agree, it's made the choosing flowers a bit difficult. I really wanted red, as it's a family tradition, the first flowers O/H bought me were red and the flowers we got just as we got engaged were red. The trouble is, not only does red not go especially well with the midnight blue, but also not with the decoration of the room in the hotel where we will be having our reception - it's got light gold walls and really dark carpet.

I, like you have therefore decided to go for ivory for the room decorations, at the church and for the bridesmaids and button holes, but have decided to have a red bouquet for me and a red button hole for O/H. The florist said that will look good - I hope so. I just couldn't break with tradition totally!

    Paris. x

I've chosen Coral for our colour scheme, as I love the colour. H2B will be wearing Gold Cravat if he wears a suit only problem is which colour of Kilt will go if he decides on one. haha Our hotel will be decorated in ivory and Gold so it'll match in well!! x

I'm not getting married till 2011 but have started to think about colour schemes and am really stuck! I originally wanted dark purple - LOVE this colour, but the wedding is prob going to be aug or sept so might be too dark and wintery....other than than that.....

Hope i dont offend anyone here....

Fushia/bright pink - like this but on the guys eg ties could it like a bit naff, footballers wives?

Tuquoise - do like this but maybe looks not right for the venue as a modern fresh color and also not all bridemaids suit this

Lilac- going off this already as not sure of dresses in that colour !!

Dusky pink - LOVE but I want to get cheapish bridemaid dresses ie from coast which does limit to a more mainstream colour

Green - a fresh bright green, which I like but feel id just be choosing it due to lack of options

I dont like navy, baby blue, yellow, red or orange....

God listen to myself - im a nightmare!! Lol

We're getting married in Belfast Castle so quite an 'old' venue but not too dark /heavy

    Help / suggestions welcome!

    Thanks

    S x

Hmmm - Coast and cheap aren't two words I'd put in the same sentence. You may be surprised at how cheap you can get BM dresses from bridal stores. Mine are Dessy and we're paying £153 each for them (phoned around and they went up to nearly £200). My Alfred Sung dress I wore as a BM was bought in a bridal shop too and was only £105...

And of course bridal ranges come in a massive range of colours.

I'm having a pink scheme and they don't actually match - they're all variations of pink. Fuscia pink flowers, a mid coloured pink BM dress and ties which are mid coloured pink with a darker pink leaf design.

I've just changed my colour scheme from Coral,Gold and Ivory to Mocha, Gold and Ivory. As the bridesmaid dresses we've picked look far better in mocha.
