Completely OT - Clootie dumpling - scottish people help!

Well my dad is a glaswegian and asked for clootie dumpling and I was going to buy one off good old ebay but don't think it will turn up due to snow!! I have a recipe and plan to make it myself, but how long does it keep? ie how far in advance can i make it?? would be giving him on thursday......

Any help much appreciated, as it is a belated birthday present!!!! ?

When buying fresh clootie dumplings they usually have best before dates of 2-4 weeks. They never last anymore than a few days in my grans house so cant speak from experience but I think it should be ok to last till Thursday provided its in an airtight container.

Many thanks so if i make it this weekend it will be fine till thursday! We are going to PIL2b on tues depending on the weather and did not want to have to make it there....

I hope it tastes good.... I bought one last year!
