Confetti?

hotcookie, 16 April, 2016 at 21:51 Posted on Planning 2 15

We are planning on having a confetti shot after our wedding, and I am currently looking to buy some. It has to be biodegradable, and I think I prefer dried petals.
We can get dried lavender (enough for 50 people apparently, 2L, with cones) for £16 or 4l of mixed petals (for 50, with cones) for £25

Anyone used adamapplevintage on ebay for confetti, & do you think lavender or floaty petals would look better? Or do I buy the lavender but add in 1-2 l of rose petals?

Wedding planning is frying my brain!

That sounds really reasonable! i'm about to order my own confetti so not sure about which suppliers are best but was also hoping to use ebay.

I think lavender and rose petals would look gorgeous.

I'm having the exact same problem too! I used to be able to function as a human being but now I'm reduced to major panic over tiny pieces of coloured paper! I'm looking for something more brightly coloured as I'm hoping it will look more dynamic but I could change my mind 50 times before buying!

I got my cones half price in the matalan sale and I bought a cheap basket from country baskets if you have one nearby it is amazing for wedding stuff.

I think im going to go with bubbles instead of confetti to save myself all this hassle lol, I thought I'd get 4 of my children bubble guns and then buy 50 little wedding bubble wands (about £8 on eBay) and everyone can blow bubbles instead of throwing confetti. Saves me having a haircut of dried petals too lol

Just be careful about what bubbles you buy. They can stain some materials meaning your guests clothes and your wedding dress could come out a bit worse for wear. I've seen a post that says it depends on the soap content of the bubbles and to consider a trial run with a sample of your dress material if you can get a hold of one.

A friend of mine managed to get bubbles from a wedding supplier, not sure which one now. They were in tiny jewel like bottles with little wands in the lid and we're designed to not stain.

If you look at the link I gave earlier I have some tips on making your own cones which is what most people do.

What I have seen is that those bulk -buy "wedding" bubbles just don't work very well, I think the issue could be the tiny wand that has to be used to fit in the small bottle lid.

We're not going to bother with cones, we're just putting all the confetti into a basket or two and will ask people to grab a handful.

I haven't used adamapplevintage yet, but I have seen their confetti and probably going to go with them. If you have facebook have a look for them, they usually run competitions on there to win some!

My sister suggested making your own bubbles, apparently it's quite good fun but I don't know how you would go about it.

So I bought the confetti from adamapplevintage and it is lovely. I got 4l + 50 cones.

Next question-we have 55 adult guests & 6kids. Do I do all 50 cones (so 11 people miss out, although I'm not convinced you can fit 50 people around you to throw confetti!) or do I do about 30-35 so 1:2 adults and all the kids get one?

Spare confetti can go on the tables if we don't use it all

I used Shropshire Petals for our confetti and loved it. It showed up beautifully in the photographs.

I think lavender will be so tiny you won't see it in the photos, but also it won't stay in the air very long so the impact will be minimal. Also thinking more practically, it will be more troublesome to get out of your hair too!

We bought a bulk of our petals and bagged it up with those little organza bags which you can get for pence on eBay.

I bought cones and cone holder trays from SHEIN website, they took about 3 weeks to come down but I got 60 cones abs two holders which will hold 60 cones and the cost was under £10 with free shipping!

It was the first time I’ve used the site and no issues.
I just need to find confetti now so going to check this company out on eBay!
