I have a packet of Supernoodles in the house [yes yes, i know, food crime etc etc] and i'm really confused about the calorie content. It says that per 100g 'as served' there are 176 calories, and 7.9g of fat. BUT, it also says that 'per half pack serving' [a pack is 100g, so a half pack serving...

I have a packet of Supernoodles in the house [yes yes, i know, food crime etc etc] and i'm really confused about the calorie content.

It says that per 100g 'as served' there are 176 calories, and 7.9g of fat.

BUT, it also says that 'per half pack serving' [a pack is 100g, so a half pack serving would presumably be 50g] there are 263 calories, and 11.8g of fat. So, if you had the whole 100g pack [which seems like a lunch type of amount], you'd be having 263 calories x 2, and 11.8g of fat x 2, so 526 calories and 23.6g fat!

a) This seems like a huge amount of calories to be in Supernoodles - aren't they just carbs? What are they adding to them?

b) How can they say on the same packet that there are either 176 calories or 526 calories per 100g? It doesn't make sense, and i'm normally quite good as working out packet trickery.

Can anyone shed any light? Are Supernoodles not only a bit dirty, but also massively fattening?

thanks!

    • A full packet of Super Noodles = about 500–550 calories
    • Some flavors are slightly lower/higher (around 450–520 kcal), Always check “per packet” calories, not “per 100g prepared”
    • If you’re exploring sandwich options beyond Jersey Mike’s , the Jimmy John's menu is another popular choice known for its fast service and fresh ingredients. From classic subs like the Turkey Tom to hearty options like the Italian Night Club, Jimmy John’s offers a wide variety of sandwiches, sides, and combo meals. Their menu is especially appreciated for simple, straightforward flavors and quick delivery, making it a strong alternative for anyone looking to compare sub sandwich chains.

I totally understand the confusion around Supernoodles calories — nutrition labels can be really misleading sometimes. The “as served” values usually include the added water weight, which makes the calories look lower than the dry packet amount. A lot of the extra calories and fat actually come from the oil and flavor seasoning used during processing.

I’ve been comparing similar fast-food nutrition info lately, especially looking at Chick-fil-A nutrition details and the Chick-fil-A menu to better understand calories, portions, and healthier meal choices when eating out. It really helps put packaged food calories into perspective. Great discussion and helpful replies here!

I was confused about the calories in Supernoodles too, so this discussion was actually really useful and easy to understand. It helped clear up serving sizes and nutrition details without making things complicated. While searching online, I also came across this simple page about financial support that shares practical help information clearly.
