Cooking - can you use yogurt instead of milk for fish pie?

Don't think it will sparate, but it might not be as thick and it will taste different. Creme fraiche?

Hmph, reason for yogurt usage was to avoid trapsing to shops for half-and-half, would have to go to further away shop to achieve creme fraiche.

Thanks for the suggestion though. Am tempted to just use the yogurt since only myself and small child will be eating it, and she's no food critic..?

yoghurt sounds a bit wrong, wouldn't it be really tangy?

I don't think it would really work at all. I mean, go ahead, but be prepared that you might not be able to eat it! ?

When my OH was on a 'cut out everything and make cooking a decent meal as difficult as possible' diet I quite often used yogurt in mashed potato etc, used it to make the topping on a moussaka as well. It actually tasted really nice, I'd go for it if it's too difficult to get out. Fish marinaded in yogurt and spices is another dish I've done and it's lovely.
