Craft HIBS - urgent advice needed

kelly29, 28 February, 2009 at 11:18 Posted on Planning 0 2

Please can somebody tell me what the difference is between hammer embossed card and linen?

I'm about to order the card for our table numbers and I have no idea what the difference is. I don't want to go ahead and order the linen only to find that it's not suitable for printing on or something like that.

I'm stuck at home today with terrible period pain so I'm trying to do as much wedding stuff as I can from a chair, so I don't completely waste the one weekend we have with no appointments!!

    Hi Kelly

Hammered has a bumpy uneven texture whereas linen is just like a linen weave texture, like fabric.

These might not show up too well but:

This is on a hammer contour card - http://www.flickr.com/photos/26234890@N07/2461933223/in/set-72157604864996277/

This is a linen effect card - http://www.flickr.com/photos/26234890@N07/2462553162/in/set-72157604864996277/

Depending on where you buy it though I've generally found hammer or contour to be slightly thicker than linen but they should still print ok.

I think Linen is the stuff we want. Thanks for your help.
