Dalhousie Castle

I am writing on behalf of my friend who is looking at getting married in Dalhousie Castle in Scotland, has anyone got married or is getting married there?

    Hi sherbert, not been but have friends who have been for a weekend. It looks amazing. Have you checked the scottish wedding dir. website they might have some info on it there

    We were originally getting married up in Scotland, we saw some great venues... and we saw Dalhousie Castle.

    I think the wedding co-ordinator was a little wet behind the ears and couldn't answer even some of my most basic questions. Plus wasn't very accomodating to little fixes that I would have wanted to their set wedding package.

    Aesthically the venue looks waaaaaay better on the website and in their literature than in real life, it's more of a hotel trying to be a castle iyswim. Plus didn't like the carpet, didn't like the fact that unless you had 150 guests everyone would be lost in al the rooms, the honeymoon suite leaved a lot to be desired and had a well in it that smelt.

    On the plus side it did have a lovely whisky room/library and the chapel was very cute.

    Now if your friend wants a castle go for Dundas, now that is a castle... Me and H2B have already decided to renew our wedding vows here, it is wonderful!

    Dalhousie - love it, been there several times, it has real character and is a dream to shoot in. Its not ideal for huge weddings but it is amazing. I once saw an owl bringing the rings to the front of the altar, it was amazing!
