Day after wedding celebrations

Amanda, 6 June, 2022 at 11:25 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hi all! I hope everyone is ok and enjoyed the long weekend? Smiley smile

We're getting married on 14th October next year and whilst the venue is very local to ourselves we have a lot of family and friends travelling pretty far (from the US, France, Scotland and south of England). So to make the most of everyone travelling to us we were considering extending the celebrations through to the Sunday and hiring a function room at a local hotel as almost an open house for people to drop in to to have some drinks and nibbles with us before they head home. It's also another opportunity for us to thank people in case we don't get chance to speak to everyone at the wedding. I was wondering if anyone else has done something similar and if you have any tips or guidance with planning a post-wedding afternoon celebration?

Thanks!

Amanda xx

I think that sounds like a lovely idea, but I would sound out the people first to see if they would be up for that, you don't want to book and pay for something if not many will attend. We managed to book an area of our venue for breakfast with our guests which was nice and enough time to see and chat to them and then left the rest of the day for people to do their own thing. i guess it is entirely down to your guests as to if they would want to do it, as some may be planning other things to do whilst here ( those from abroad)
