'Dead Famous' Fancy Dress

Mrs Bass, 11 January, 2013 at 13:55 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

This is the theme to a party Im going to.

Im trying to think 'outside the box' and thought about Amelia Earhart or Emily Pankhurst but then realised that the outfits wouldnt be very glam and as its a party, I want to look glam! (shallow..moi?!)

So now im thinking of 40 & 50' Hollywood screen sirens. I don't really want to wear a wig so im looking for red haired ladies.

I thought about Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz but also Rita Hayworth. Im swaying more to the latter as I could go uber glam and I appreciate any excuse to buy another VoH dress!

But before I decide I thought I would open it up to you creative ladies. Can you think of any red haired famous ladies that are deceased?!

It is also the name of Charlaine Harris book so you could pretend you misunderstood and go as one of the characters from that? Or there is a Ben Elton book by the same name? Both books have red haired characters in them... but I may be being too obscure!

    Lucille Ball would suit a 50s swing-dress.

    Katherine Hepburn for Hollywood glam.

Billi Burke if 1920s is more your style.

Deborah Kerr (from The King & I)

    Ginger Rogers (with tap shoes?!)

    There's loads.....!! ?

Katherine Hepburn for Hollywood glam - thanks AIW this who I had in mind for hollywood glam and red hair!

I think judy garland though in Dorothy outfit, so it's obvious who you are instead of just being a glam version of yourself and folk asking you!

I was going to say Katherine Hepburn and also Vivien Leigh from Gone With The Wind. I *think* she was a red head.
