Debenhams wedding dress

Benjaminsmum, 10 March, 2014 at 19:52 Posted on Planning 0 7

Has anyone bought their wedding dress from Debenhams or a high street retailer? I've a lovely one in debenhams which I have actually bought although I still haven't decided on it yet. I will go to a bridal shop to try on some dresses however I do not want to spend more then a £200 on my dress so it is unlikely I will get one from there.

Thanks

Amy

Mine is from Monsoon - it was £75 in the sale. 100% silk, really heavy, good quality fabric and a lovely simple design. I didn't go to any bridal shops as I didn't want a big dress and I didn't want to spend too much.

I saw a beaut of a dress in BHS last year... Already had mine by then though!

I think the high street does some fab dresses, any chance of a flash benjaminsmum?

The high street have some gorgeous dresses!

I don't think it matters where u get it from as long as its the right one for you!

If you do want a nosey at some bridal shops why don't u look at some outlet ones that sell ex shop samples or last seasons gowns at a very good discounted prices.

I got mine from BHS. I was the same, really didn't want to spend a fortune. Didn't even bother with bridal shops. None of my close friends/family live near me so it was a bit of a hassle to organise and I didn't want to fall in love with a super expensive dress that I can't afford.

I went the online route, but if I hadn't I definitely would have gone high street as I couldn't spend more than £200 on one, budget wise and peace of mind! In fact, one on BHS is giving me serious wobbles, but then I realise it is extremely similar to mine anyway! Personally though, I wouldn't go to a bridal shop first. Any you try on in there will be very different weight, quality and attention to detail, simply as they are more expensive! I would plan a day going to all of the high street bridal ranges where you can still have the 'trying on experience'! Good luck, and let us know if you see one you like!
