Decorating the registrar's table

Weather Girl, 15 April, 2009 at 19:33 Posted on Planning 0 8

I could really do with some ideas for decorating the registrar's table. We're having calla lily filled fish bowls for the reception but the ceremony will be held in a different room and I did initially think about putting one or two of the bowls on the registrar's table. But, the more I think about it the more I feel that the fish bowls won't really look right in the ceremony room. The ceremony room is in an old conservatory with lots of light and I don't think anything too fussy would go.

I'd like something simple but also something that we could maybe move and put somewhere else for the evening part of things and it doesn't have to involve flowers. Anyone got any ideas? Our colour scheme is dark red/burgundy and orange (not bright orange).

Thanks.

NIkkis idea is good... i would just get some extra callas off the florest doing your bowls and lay them on the table.

Am going to be using my top table arrangment and just get hotel to swap it over for me

Do check with the registrar - ours wouldn't allow anything except for my bouquet. We got around this by having a huge pedestal arrangement in the corner just to the side of the table. You can just about see it in this pic:

If you can decorate it I agree a low arrangement with calla lillies would be nice, you could then put it on the top table later.

    Hi,

I spoke to the registrar this week and asked what was or wasn't allowed.

No water (with flowers in) incase of spillage on book and no open flames (so there goes my candles)

Think I'll just be scattering flower petals and teal crystals

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I think I may just end up using my bouquet - I'd thought about using some fishbowls on the top table so some of the other ideas may just end up being wasted which is a real shame. I was thinking about having a pedastal at the side of the room too so I'll think I'll opt for that and my bouquet.

    Thanks again ?

You really don't need extra decoration for the Registrars table most Brides just place their Bouquet on it.

Also as mentioned check whether there are flowers there already.

The bouquet idea sounds good, as you don't really need to put it in water for that short amount of time.

    - How about getting a nice jug/vase (whatever fits with your theme) and just placing the bouquet in, rather than standing it in water?

    - Or standing a small topiary tree, which matches with your theme, at each side of the table?
