Deed poll middle name... so confused!

So I found out that my birth certificate doesn't have a middle name down for me, however all my life my parents had said my middle name is Alice had that on passports going back as far as I can remember. Now I find out my birth certificate doesnt specify any middle name, but my passport does. Does this mean I need a deed poll to say I changed my name to include the middle name, or can I totally ignore it?


I'm so confused some sites say deed poll is really only for changing your first or surname, some say sure do a deed poll and add a middle name. Has anyone had any experience and what to do with this? Just dont want the registry office to say how come youve added a middle name in your passport but you weren't born with it. Thanks!
