Now, I have one, its new, I don't really know why I bought it, it was a " I'm now a mummy and I want to be seen as trendy not mummy like" kind of purchase I think... what would you wear it with!? Obviously im not stuck in the 90s (or in B*withced) so wont be teaming it with jeans!!
Inspire me fashionistas!!!

If its long enough I'd wear with leggings and Vans (if you have some). If it's not then I'd wear with chinos, cigarette trousers, skinny (black or other colour) jeans.

Is it light or heavy fabric? Is it light or heavy colour? Is it a formal or a casual style? Is it an "open over a T-shirt" style or "buttoned up well-cut" style?

I don't think I've worn one as an adult ? I think anything brown is out, as you'll look like a cowgirl. Also, as you say, denim is out. What about black leggings? Or black shorts/skirt?

Also, I would never wear it buttoned up. Always open with a tee underneath.

I really want one but I fear I will look like a knob.

I have visions of me wearing it with a long black vest top, leggings and my slipper style shoes or my converse?

I like the maxi dress idea- may try that in the summer

My trendy 20 year old friends wear them with leggings, a printed/slogan tee and brogues/pumps.

I wouldn't have the first idea!

Oh wow horrifying flashbacks to denim on denim. Denim shirts should be banished from the face of the earth before we see a rerun of the fashion horrors that have scarred so many of us.

Shuddering at the very memory of them eurgh.

Sorry Flow, very unhelpful post from me. I have no style at all so dont listen to me.

I read the title as shorts was very confused. No suggestions though Flow although over a maxi dress reminds me of Phoebe off of friends.

Exactly. I would never do this. A short denim jacket but not a long denim shirt.

I recently got a belted denim shirt dress (maternity). Does that make me trendy? I got it early in pregnancy, on a whim to be some kind of 70's Mum. God knows why. Hormones?

I would wear open with a tee and leggings. If maxi dress would need to be pale denim and a jacket.

    Double denim... Do it.
