Did you sleep the night before?

pinkstar780, 25 June, 2008 at 16:32 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi guys,

Wedding is less that 3 months away now and things are really starting to move...

I am really worried that the night before my wedding I am going to be a nervous reck and not be able to sleep, has anyone else had this trouble, I find it hard to sleep anyway when I have things on my mind so god knows what I am going to be like the night before my wedding....

Will have to have a couple of glasses of champagne I think!!!

I got married nearly 3 years ago and didn;t get much sleep the night before, all my own fault though.

Went to hotel were hubby was staying with family for a drink, was going to leave early..but didn't. On way back to my parents I stopped in at my house where all my friends were staying to find the card I;d got for hubby. Couldn;t find it anywhere. Got back to my parents to realise i;d left my mobile in my car which was back at the hotel, hence ringing hubby and getting him to check my mobile was there and promise to stay inside while i went to get it as I had a spare key at it was getting very close to midnight.

Got to hotel, i had a present and card for hubby which i wanted one of the ushers to keep hold of and hide in his favour box, and I;d forgotten to sort it earlier, so at about 12.30am i was sat outside the hotel in my parenst car ringing everyone I could think of to get one of them to come and take the stuff off me. No one was answering the phone. eventually MIL answered and at 12.45am I met her half way across the grassy area infront of the hotel to swap the items.

Got back to my parents just after 1am, my parents had bought me some gifts so i opened these and shed a few tears. then I got in the bath at 2am. got to bed about 3am and slept really badly. You know when you;re worried your alarm will go off and you won;t wake up?.

However the day of the wedding was fab, i kept going all day. It was just the buzz of it all.

Don;t worry about not sleepign too well, as when the day hits, and you're running high, you'll not even notice if you;re a bit tired.

I was not nervous at all about the wedding. Everyone would ask if i was nervous and i really didn't know what they were going on about. Then the night before the wedding it all hit me at once. I was a nervous wreck.

I actually came onto Hitched and a couple of the ladies on here chatted to me and calmed me down. I thought something was going to go wrong.

Haven't a clue where it came from and i had a fantastic day. So to answer your question, no i didn't ?

I'm also worried about sleeping with 8 weeks to go. Not because I think I'll be nervous but because I'll be so excited and hyper! And then if I can't get to sleep easily I'll be worried that I won't get enough sleep and will look rough!

You know when you're a kid and you canm't sleep on xmas eve? Well that will be me!

I thought I woudl have trouble sleeping and thought I'd be waking up throughout the night wanting to throw up! I slept so well though.

One thng I iwsh I didn't do is have my 4 BMs, two friends and my mum round the evening before. I just wanted them to go home so I coudl go to sleep as I felt really nervous the night before but only because they were all so hyper and loud. I was so pleased to get to bed and left 3 of my BMs downstairs paining each others nails.

Well mum has already said we're having no one stay over the night before and I added to that and said I want to be by myself (except my parents) ie not have the bms over.

The reason mum is so adament is that my nan was down for my bro's wedding last year as were 2 of mum's friends. My bro wanted to stay at parents the night before so I stayed at his house in a swap. Nan had a massive nose bleed at about midnight, had an ambulance and so my poor parents and brother were up til about 3am! Meanwhile I slept well blissfully unaware!
