Another follow on thread! Someone I used to see form Leeds called a stool a buffett. I laughed till I cried (easily amused) when I heard my H call a forward roll a gambole! Never heard it before! Anyone else?

When we were younger, if me or my friend put our hands together to give the other one a boost when climbing we called it a 'bunk up'.

Her mum was disgusted but we never knew why...

If someone is annoying, they're known as a 'nause' where I'm from.

    Heres the Teesside spin

Firstly, I will clarify the 'Parmesan' or Parmo. It was invented in Middlesbrough and is a culinary delight I indulge in on an almost weekly basis. It is rare to find them outside of Teesside. Garlic sauce an essential accompaniment. Mmm.....

A 'Pattie' from the chippie here is a layer of potato, topped with a layer of fish, battered.

    A bread roll = Bun

    A forward roll is somersalt?

A ride on the back of someone bike is a croggie.

    Short trousers = Half masts

Crumpet/pikelet = Fat/Thin version of the same thing. i'm in crumpet camp.

Bump on the head - keggy

I'd call an alley a cut

    Baltic means cold

Also a saying for if you feel awkward is that you feel 'rare'

Sange, only posh chippies do corned beef or cheese and onion pattys, they are usually just potato and herbs, commonly had as a patty butty with chips! Carbs anyone!!
