We're having a few more dinner parties this year than we have done previously and, while I'm enjoying the social aspect, I'm beginning to get a little lost on what to serve!

I've done most of our old favourites over the years, so I'm really looking for some new ideas.

So what do you make for a 3 course meal that isn't mahoosively expensive but tastes great and looks good?

ETA: H won't eat cooked cheese and I won't eat un-cooked cheese! So leave the cheese ?

Then H is doing lamb shanks in a red wine sauce for the main course

    and finishing up with:

Told you it wouldn't look quite as pretty!! It's a little wonky, but I tasted every layer as I went along and it's fab, if I do say so myself!! Slightly in awe at the amount of chocolate in it though, not to mention the cream - the diet may take a knocking today!!!

Last night for tea I ate cheese and crackers off a plate on my desk while I reorganized my entire music collection, so I think Bekki and her guests win.
