Disaster - Clinique Shampoo and Conditioners

Clare _ M, 2 July, 2008 at 14:29 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 15

They've only gone and discontinued the damn things!!!!! ?

I've been using them for a couple of years now and they're wonderful - my hair's never felt so clean. I only have to wash my hair twice a week max with them and I used to HAVE to wash it every other day. I'd run out and used L'Oreal this morning and my hair feels like crap.

Can anyone recommend their shampoo for me? I like light shampoos and conditioners. Price doesn't really matter because I feel the better the shampoo the less you use so it all evens out eventually. (Obviously I don't want to be spending £30 on a bottle though!)

Does your hair feel the same when you are at the hairdressers? I'd recommend buying their products.

I vary between Umberto Gianini, TreSemme, Catwalk and Tony & Guy.

It's an Aveda salon so I suppose they're probably a good bet. I just don't really like change that much. ?

I've just phoned the "gone but not forgotten" hotline to see if they have any but I'm not holding out much hope. Every other Tom, Dick and Harry are probably doing the same thing.

Aveda Shampure is fantastic. I've used it for the last 4/5 years and would never change. It costs about £24 for a litre and lasts aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages becuase it uses a pump dispenser and you only need one pump per wash (I wash mine twice/three times a week and have long hair).

Do you just use that? Is it a two in one or do you use a seperate conditioner?

Have you thought of checking ebay and then buying as many bottles as you can lay your hands on?

I am like this about a particular deodorant that you can only buy in the US [Secret Powder Dry] I bulk buy it whenever I see it ?

I do use the Shampure conditioner but only once a fortnight as a treatment. I leave it on with a towel turban for about 20 minutes but it's a great everyday conditioner too. Inbetween I use the conditioner tubes from the hair dye my H uses ?, Loreal Excellence I think, H won't use them and I hate the waste. I only use those on the ends though because I've got a sensitive scalp.

Sorry I posted before I'd finished!

Thanks for the advice girls. The woman from "gone but not forgotten" phoned back and couldn't find any anywhere. I'll have to check ebay and if not then I'll try the Aveda one. ?

Sorry to jump onto the thread but I used to love Secret deodorant and haven't been able to get it for years and it was the only thing that worked. I never thought about trying the internet though.

I hate it when that happens! Same happened to me with an Almay face wash which really helped my skin and was then discontinued. ☹️

Have you tried Wella SP stuff? It's the stuff you only get in salons and I've found it's helped me get down to "every other day" shampooing instead of every day. Smells fab too! ? Think it's about £11 for a bottle but you don't need to use much of it and a bottle lasts me a couple of months. (mid length hair)

The conditioner doesn't last as long, but that's because I need to use lots due to my stupid very fine hair that tangles easily!

    Good luck with your hunt.

Kerastese is great, I use this one http://www.luxuryhaircare.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=5_43&products_id=172

I can also highly recommend by far the best I've ever used and the balm is amazing! http://www.lucindaellery.com/lucindaellery_hairproducts.php

    Another good one is:

http://www.sexyhair.com/book/Healthy.html (i have the pumpkin leave in conditioner and its very light)

I alternate mine each day so I never use the same one two days in a row. For a cheapy I love L'oreal Elvive.

I use Sebastian and love it. All the hairdressers I've spoken to have seemed to rate it quite highly as well.

Just caught back up with this. Thanks for the ebay tip will check it out. I'd be delighted to have it back and wonder why they stopped selling over here as Bodycare used to always have it.
