Divorce update

I posted a few wekks ago about H2B's divorce not being finalised. He had a minute of agreement about finances and custody but didn't realise he had to then apply for a decree Nici. So it came as a shock to find out he'd left it too late. Talked nicely to a girl in the court who told us she'd see what she could do. She really pulled it off.

H2B's divorce will be through (Decree Absolute) on the 10th August and we get married on the 16th. It's really cutting it fine but at least it will be through in time.?

Though everyone who gave me help, support, and advice would like to be kept updated.

Feeling super motivated so I plan on doing the invitations this week.?

    (the risk-averse person inside me would still wonder what could happen for his decree absolute to *not* be finalised, and do whatever i could to mitigate those risks....)

    Bluewater- I'm a great worrier at times so I'm being super nice to his ex-wife just now (we get on okay) and keeping my fingers crossed, I think that's all I can do.

    I haven't been on here in a while but just wanted to say that's great news that you are getting this sorted out.

    We are going tomorow to get h2b's divorce started so need to make sure I write down when we need to apply for the nici and then the absolute ?

    Well done to that girl in the Court!!

    Your H knows that he has to apply for decree absolute it won't automatically come through on that date doesn't he? Thought I would point it out in case you both expect the court to just sort it Smiley smile

    Decree Absolute is a paper exercise sp as long as he goes to Court fills int he form and gives them £40 cash they'll do it there and then.
