DIY Helium Balloon Kits...

FelicityChaplin, 17 January, 2010 at 15:55 Posted on Planning 0 4

I think they are a great idea, and will cost me about £50 for the canister and the balloons I want.
However I am obviously nervous about having a gas canister sitting around my house, and the overall safety of such an item..

Anyone had any positive/negative experiences using them?

I bought one of these for a party for my sister and I should have just got the balloon shop to do it

The cannister did about half the balloons it said, it was fiddly and lots of the balloons snapped/broke

I brought one from sainsburys for my daughters birthday party, they did the amount they said on the box were easy to use and was really really pleased with it, as for safety if they keep them in store in sainsburys for people to pick up and put in their trolley, then i would say that they are not dangerous to keep around the house.

I would recommend trying out http://www.partyrama.co.uk/mcp/Disposable_Helium_Gas.html

Good prices on helium cannisters (way way cheaper than Hobbycraft) and an excellent delivery service.
